Trinity Housing is a local DC-area nonprofit dedicated to ensuring housing for working families. The nonprofit follows a comprehensive eight-part strategy to reach its goals. Some of these initiatives include joining existing partnerships, collaborating with local municipalities, and holding speaking events to raise awareness on the importance of housing.
The Trinity Housing team was forthright about wanting a simple website to maintain a basic online presence. The website would cover the nonprofit’s mission statement and priorities, while also including biographical information about its three prominent members — President Genevieve Hanson, Treasurer Michael Sullivan, and Secretary Ryan Segars.
At XenonPrime, we love to work with mission-driven organizations. That’s why we took on this project to build a basic informational website for Trinity Housing. The organization provided us with an attractive orange logo, and we extended this existing color scheme to the website as well. We chose the “Oswald” font — a modern, bold typography — to emphasis the passion and purpose-driven nature of the organization.
The navigation bar at the top mostly serves as anchors to sections on the homepage. Because we were asked to develop a simple brochure website, we chose this basic yet intuitive navigation system. Lastly, images on the page are given an elegant curtain drop and reveal effect, creating a high-end, sophisticated look. We accomplished this through writing custom CSS code and using JavaScript’s Intersection Observer API so that the animation would occur once the image appears in the viewport.
